Chorus drops out and an orchestra begins the Hymn Setting of the Shire A melody. Frodo catches his first glimpse of Bilbo and he runs to him. HS COMMENT

A clarinet picks up the Pensive Setting of the Shire A melody as the two embrace and then talk about Bilbo’s book, 'There and Back Again, A Hobbit’s Tale'.

The clarinet drops out and the orchestra continues the Pensive Setting with the secondary Shire B melody as Frodo opens up the book to a map of The Shire. Clarinet picks up the primary Shire A melody using a Pensive Setting.

The Rivendell Theme returns with the chorus singing one short phrase. Sam is packing his bags and ready to go.
