English
Where once was light
Now darkness falls
Where once was love
Love is no more
Don't say—goodbye
Don't say—I didn't try
These tears we cry
Are falling rain
For all the lies you told us
The hurt, the blame!
And we will weep to be so alone
We are lost
We can never go home
So in the end
I'll be—what I will be*
No loyal friend
Was ever there for me
Now we say—goodbye
We say—you didn't try...
These tears you cry
Have come too late
Take back the lies
The hurt, the blame!
And you will weep
When you face the end alone
You are lost!
You can never go home
You are lost!
You can never go home |

*For that line, The Annotated Score for
The Two Towers provides this version:
I will be–what I will be.
The sheet music from Musicnotes.com
provides the version shown above
and it seems clear that Emiliana is
singing the version above. |

*In the magazine, Movie from the Movies magazine, Issue
#42, page 36, Janet Roddick, David Donaldson, Steve Roche, David
Long—all from plan 9—are listed for
lyrics in the recording info for the TTT. They are not credited in
the AS-TTT. If I had to guess which source was correct, I would
guess the AS-TTT. It's more recent and, although Plan 9 contributed
diegetic music to the LOTR movies, in none of those cases did they
contribute lyrics. I just can't imagine that they would bring those
four in for this one song. |
